Maureen (Moe) ScarcelloWith a background in Interior Design, real estate investing, and as a Real Estate Broker, Moe began staging and selling her own properties with incredibly successful results. In 2006, encouraged by colleagues, friends and family, she decided to follow her passion and devote all of her time to the ever increasing world of Real Estate Staging. Prior to embarking on her career in staging, Moe held executive sales and marketing positions with several Fortune 500 Companies specializing in bringing new products to market domestically and abroad in Europe and Asia. In her last position with Citicorp, Moe spent most of her time in Europe and Asia gaining great insight into various cultures which continues to serve her well in understanding the diversity of today’s global buyers In 2008, Moe met Val Allocco while working on a Habitat for Humanity project. A bond was formed and recognizing an aptitude for mutually envisioning a space, a partnership was born.
Val AlloccoIn 2005, when Home Staging was coming to the forefront nationally, Val thoroughly researched the industry and with her background in art and marketing, the concept seemed to be a natural career transition. In 2006, while staging was a relatively unknown concept in the northeast, she received her staging certification and founded her company, Staged 2 Sell NY. In 2008, Val launched two New York chapters of the American Society of Home Stagers and Re-designers (ASHSR) as an effort to educate and unite other Home Stagers in Manhattan and on Long Island through monthly meetings in each location. She also blended the members from both chapters for a community service project involving a Habitat for Humanity house that was near completion on Long Island. It was during this project that Val became more familiar with Moe Scarcello who was a member of the LI chapter. They discovered that they shared the same design aesthetic, so they decided to blend their talents and work together on future staging projects.
Val and Moe have continued their support for stagers and the staging industry by serving as President and Vice President of the Real Estate Stagers Association (RESA) Long Island Chapter. RESA recently voted Moe and Val as one of the top 10 Home Staging teams in the U.S. and Canada for 2016.
